Project Overview: In this project, I developed a Database Management System (DBMS) for an art gallery, leveraging SQL Server and MS Visio to enhance the gallery’s functionality while maintaining the integrity of its original system. The system was designed to streamline gallery operations and improve customer interactions through various automated processes.
Key Contributions & Approach:
- Database Design & Implementation: Created a comprehensive database management system using SQL Server and MS Visio for database modeling. The system ensured smooth operations for managing gallery activities such as appointments, art shows, and sales tracking.
- MySQL Functionality Development: Designed and implemented a range of functionalities in MySQL, including: Visitor appointment booking system to streamline customer interactions. Art show scheduling for managing exhibitions and events. Commission tracking for salespeople to monitor sales and commissions accurately. Auction process for artworks to enable seamless online bidding. Online rating system to allow customers to rate artworks, enhancing engagement and feedback collection.
- Advanced MySQL Techniques: Utilized advanced MySQL concepts such as data modeling, stored procedures, and triggers to ensure smooth integration and functionality of the system.
- Business Impact: The new system improved operational efficiency, offering a user-friendly interface for managing appointments, auctions, and art shows while tracking sales activities and customer feedback effectively.
